Yemenis’ resistance stems from Imam Khomeini’s ideology: documentary filmmaker

Coinciding with the intensification of the aggression of the Arab-Western-Hebrew coalition in attacking the oppressed people of Yemen, the International Conference “Investigating the Dimensions of the Aggression against Yemen” was held on Saturday, February 5, 2022, by the Arbaeen International Foundation in cooperation with the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly and coordinated institutions.

Speaking at the conference, saying that his focus was on Yemen, Sayed Mohsen Abbas, a documentary filmmaker from UK, said, “The Saudi attack, with the support of the Zionist regime, against the Yemeni people is a crime against humanity.”

“Saudi Arabia is doing this on behalf of the United States. This issue is also supported by the Zionist regime,” said the documentary filmmaker from UK, referring to the huge cost of Saudi Arabia in purchasing military weapons.

“Yemen is resisting the savagery and oppression of many countries with the least facilities. Protests are taking place around the world against the destabilizing actions of the superpower countries in Yemen,” he stated, on the unity and resistance of the Yemeni people.

“With his resistance, Imam Khomeini (r.a.) became one of the greatest figures in the world and his popularity increased every day,” said Sayed Mohsen Abbas, referring to Imam Khomeini’s strategy against the tyrants.

“Yemenis are seeking freedom from the authoritarian governments. Imam Khomeini is alive in the hearts of all Yemenis, and to keep the memory of Imam Khomeini alive, the Yemenis are resisting, and the Resistance word is still sacred to them,” the documentary filmmaker from the UK said, comparing the thoughts of Imam Khomeini to the unity and resistance of the Yemeni people.

“The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran also fundamentally believes in resistance. With resistance, many leaders have been able to overcome many difficulties. Imam Khomeini and Ayatollah Khamenei kept the holy ideology of resistance alive, and many people in the region have been able to win by relying on this ideology,” he said in the definition of resistance.

“With the guidance of religious leaders such as Sayed Hassan Nasrallah and Bashar al-Assad in Syria, the Yemeni Mujahideen were able to resist the aggression of the occupying regimes,” stated Sayed Mohsen Abbas, referring to the resistance of the Yemeni Mujahideen.

“In today’s world, it is very difficult to stand against the dictatorship of the Zionist regime and Western governments. The documentary filmmaker from UK stated, “The events in Iraq, Lebanon and Syria are now being repeated in Yemen. With unity and solidarity, we were able to destroy many proxy forces, such as ISIL. Despite all the sanctions, the Yemenis, like the oppressed people of Palestine, are fighting for their independence and their country.”

“Many people responded to the invitation of their leader and, inspired by the struggles of the freedom fighters, stand up to the arrogant and become stronger day by day,” he continued, considering Iran and the Islamic Revolution as the best source of inspiration for the Yemeni people.

“One of Ayatollah Khomeini’s ideologies was to advise religious leaders, and the other was lesson of freedom that Imam Hussain (a.s.) taught in Karbala. Eventually, because of the Fitrah and the Islamic teachings, people will continue to resist. Today, of course, the resistance has modern form,” said Sayed Mohsen Abbas, considering different roots for resistance.

“The resistance of the Yemeni people is very holy, and the Yemenis must stand together to achieve great political consciousness and great political authority and personality,” clarified the documentary filmmaker from the UK, noting that the criminals are looking for loot and control of the area.

“According to Ayatollah Khamenei, ‘the resistance must be as a document, and sacred enough to keep its values alive,’ as the Iranians have kept it alive. The Yemenis know that if they surrender, they can no longer defend their rights. Therefore, they should not surrender to Saudi Arabia and the Zionist regime,” he said, in stating the third reason.

“They kill the Yemeni people in the name of fighting terrorism. Clearly, Ansarullah and the Yemeni people are resisting with the least possible means, and they are sacrificing their lives and property,” stated Sayed Mohsen Abbas, referring to other aspects of the resistance of the Yemeni people.

“Terrorism has reached its peak in Yemen. The real enemy of the Yemeni people and their allies are the aggressors, and the United Nations must stop them and stand against these crimes,” expressed the documentary filmmaker from the UK, referring to news boycott on Yemen.

“The spirit of resistance of the Yemeni people will lead to their victory. Their spirit and the heartfelt belief make them bravely resist the savagery and aggression,” he assured.
