Seminaries and Marjaiat, good refuge for Iraqi people: Friday prayer leader of Najaf

Friday prayer leader of Najaf, “Since the fall of Saddam’s regime, we (the Iraqi nation), have fought against the challenges, and we were able to prevent the civil war and sedition of terrorism.”

On Saturday, September 3, 2022, at the closing ceremony of the 7th General Assembly of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly in Iran International Conference Center in Tehran, referring to the speeches of the Supreme Leader of the Revolution, Hojat al-Islam Sayed Sadreddin Qobanchi stated, “The words of the Supreme Leader of the Revolution in the meeting with the members of the General Assembly of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly are very important.”

The Friday prayer leader of Najaf clarified, “Since the fall of Saddam’s regime, we have faced three major challenges in Iraq. The first challenge was the absolute freedom that the Iraqi people enjoyed after decades of repression. The second challenge is the geographical and strategic location of Iraq, that led to entice the greed of everyone. The third challenge was the inexperience of Iraqi Shiites in governance.”

“Since the fall of Saddam’s regime, we have fought against the challenges, and we were able to prevent the civil war and sedition of terrorism,” he added.

Referring to the soft war in Iraq, Hojat al-Islam Qobanchi noted, “The Iraqi nation has been able to preserve its identity. You can see the miracle of Arbaeen in Iraq, during which the people of the country offer everything they have to serve the pilgrims of Imam Hussain (a.s.).”

“15 million pilgrims attend the Arbaeen Great Walk ceremony. On the way of this pilgrimage, a 30-kilmeter congregational prayers are held. With the blessing of AhlulBayt (a.s.) and Imam Hussain (a.s.), we won the cultural war in Iraq,” he said.

“Seminaries and Marjaiat showed that they are a good refuge for all Iraqi people,” Friday prayer leader of Najaf added.

“In Iraq, we could stop Zionism, and the law of criminalizing the normalization of relations with Zionists was approved in the parliament of the country,” he stated, “After nearly a year of the elections in Iraq, the government has not been formed yet, and this is due to the differences between the two parties.”

“Political experience in Iraq should be promoted; a theory that most Shiite political parties agree with,” Hojat-ul-Islam Qobanchi emphasized.

“In the past days, after the violent incidents in Iraq, all the Shiite political parties agreed to pursue the issues through peaceful means. We clearly saw the hand of Imam Hussain (a.s.) in calming the sedition that could have destroyed Iraq,” he said.

“As long as the people of Iraq follow the Wilayat of AhlulBayt (a.s.), there is no concern,” Friday prayer leader of Najaf said in the end.
