Islam influenced by Martyr Soleimani: Alizadeh Mousavi

The international webinar “Martyr Qasem Soleimani, role model for Islamic world in fight against arrogance, extremism” was held on Sunday, January 2, 2022, from 6 to 8 pm, by the Secretariat of the World Conference “Countering Extremism and Takfiriism”, in cooperation with the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly with the presence of thinkers and scholars of the Islamic world.

In this webinar, Hojat al-Islam Sayed Mahdi Alizadeh Mousavi stated, “The people of the region are indebted to Martyr Soleimani. If it were not for him, many catastrophes would have happened to the people of different countries.”

“Sometimes, to introduce the Martyr Soleimani, we suffice with slogans and superficial activities such as printing posters, preparing brochures and holding commemoration ceremonies. This is while we need to know different aspect of his character. We have to answer the question of what was the characteristic of Martyr Soleimani that cause him to shine and succeed. His successes were not limited to fighting the enemy, rather, various groups and schools of thought within the country, despite all the differences, agree on Martyr Soleimani. In Iraq, we saw that at the time of General Soleimani’s martyrdom, a glorious funeral was held for him, despite the actions of the seditionists against Iran. This shows the great position of Martyr Soleimani,” he continued.

“In order to provide suitable models for the next generation of the country, we must analyze the personality of Martyr General Soleimani in think tanks and research institutes and study the different dimensions of his personality. Some figures are men of hard fields. But Martyr Soleimani was a figure who was also accepted among groups inside the country. He was not just a military figure, but also a cultural figure,” added the Deputy Representative of the Supreme Leader in India.

“When Martyr Soleimani met with Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi on the sidelines of the Conference Fighting Takfiriism, I witnessed the martyr speak to this Marja like a student in front of a teacher. When Martyr Soleimani met with the families of his martyred comrades, his mood changed. Anyone who saw the behavior of this martyr with the children of the martyrs did not believe that he was the man of the battlefield,” stated Alizadeh Mousavi, referring to the politeness of Martyr Soleimani in front of Marjas.

“Martyr Soleimani visited the shrine of Imam Reza (a.s.) on the last Arafa Day in his life. During that trip, he told his companions, ‘I want to talk to Imam Reza (a.s.)’. This martyr shed tears from the beginning to the end of Arafa supplication. He gained his spiritual and esoteric power inside the shrine of Imam Reza (a.s.). He was fully prepared for martyrdom. Whoever is for God, God is for him. As long as he was alive, he was on the battlefield and fought against the United States, ISIL, and their affiliates. But after his martyrdom, his role was no less than his role during his lifetime,” he continued.

“Martyr Soleimani was a figure who influenced the Islamic world and in one country alone, a thousand commemoration ceremonies were held for him. Sunnis in the Indian subcontinent named their children Qassem Soleimani. We had seen such an event only in the time of Imam Khomeini (r.a.),” added the Deputy Representative of the Supreme Leader in India.

“A figure can be effective just when he is self-made in all dimensions. Just as we needed Martyr Soleimani in the battlefield, we need him now in the field of culture. We have become so powerful in military affairs that no one dares to invade our country, but what has made our society vulnerable is culture,” Alizadeh Mousavi stated, referring to the need to follow the example of Martyr Soleimani in the cultural field.

“We must follow the example of Martyr Soleimani in the cultural affairs so that we can fight the cultural invasion of the enemy,” he mentioned.
