ABWA Official Website – During his visit to Karachi, Pakistan, Ayatollah Reza Ramazani, Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, visited Benurieh Sunni society and talked with the officials and professors of the university.
During the meeting, Ayatollah Ramazani said, “The science of recitation is important, and try to understand the content of the Quran.”
Stating that the Quran has two languages, spoken and comprehension, the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly stated, “The language of comprehension of the Quran is universal and timeless. The intellectuals want to limit the Quran. The fruits of teaching the Quran should be visible in all areas of life.”
“The first verses that were revealed to the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) were not the verses of Jihad,” he added, “In Tafsir Kabir, by Fakhr Razi, it is stated that the Prophet (p.b.u.h) told his companions 75 times, “I have not been commissioned to wage jihad; I do not have permission to wage jihad.” What was first revealed to the Prophet was drawing attention to knowledge and dignity.”
“Try to make your clergy bear light and dignity after graduation,” Ayatollah Ramazani said, addressing the officials of Banurieh Society.
The Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly suggested that in the field of ethics, as in the past, Shiite and Sunni books should be taught in Iranian seminaries and the Banurieh Sunni Society.
“Anne-Marie Schimmel, a German Islamic scholar, translated the book of al-Sahifa al-Sajjadiyya, and her mother recites this book for prayer,” he stated, “Also, Grand Ayatollah Shahab ud-Din Mar’ashi Najafi sent the Sahifa book to Sheikh Tantawi in al-Azhar, and he decided to write a commentary on this book.”
While inviting the officials of the Benurieh society to attend AhlulBayt (a.s.) International University, Ayatollah Ramazani expressed his hope that the commonality between the two sides will develop.
Further in the meeting, Mr. Rabbani, one of the professors of the Banurieh Society, said, “Shiite and Sunni clerics and ulama have a close and good relationship with each other.”
“About 5000 students from 60 nationalities are studying in Banurieh Sunni Society in Karachi,” he added.
