Pointing out that in addition to family ethics, Hazrat Zeinab (a.s.) was active as a social activist in the most difficult events, the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, Ayatollah Ramazani said, “Nurses are graduates of the school of Hazrat Zeinab (a.s).”

Saying that Hazrat Zeinab (a.s.) was one of the prominent and great personalities of the Islamic world, Ayatollah Ramazani continued, “Throughout history, there has been a lot of disrespect for the status of women, but Islam has been a strong defender of their rights. In the early days of Islam, considering the sufferings that had existed before against women, the Prophet (p.b.u.h) considered the defense and fulfillment of women’s rights as part of his mission.”

“The names of specific and pious women of history, in some surahs of the Quran, as well as the content of a surah related to Hazrat Zahra (a.s.), proves Islam’s attention to the status of women and firm defense of their rights”, Ayatollah Ramazani noted, referring to the existence of a surah in the Holy Quran called the Women (Surah An-Nisa).

“Today, some with an extremist view that has a long history, believe that women should only do housework and have no presence in the social arena. On the other hand, some believe that a woman should have social presence in the society without any role in ethics at home. Islam emphasizes that a woman with a set of conditions, in addition to being morally responsible for managing the home, is the best person who can raise a child in the first few years of life”, he added.

“Islam also emphasizes that women can play a role in the social arena as a moral and social activist, and that their educational and moral role in society should not be neglected”, Ayatollah Ramazani continued.

Saying that today we are witnessing the role of women in social fields and various fields of science, spirituality, education and social activities, the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly added, “The role of nurses in defending public health should not be neglected.”

“Since the outbreak of covid-19 pandemic, a number of nurses in the country have been martyred to protect the public health, whose memory should always be honored”, he said, emphasizing that the nurses are graduates of the school of Hazrat Zeinab (a.s.).

Pointing out that women can play an important role in society, the effects of which have emerged today, Ayatollah Ramazani added, “This is one of the valuable things that Islam always emphasizes.”

“Husbands and wives are the two main pillars of the family that provide the health of the society”, he said, adding that the wife, as a mother, is the educator of the children for raising them and, as a wife, can keep the family warm with fidelity.

“Apart from the spiritual dimensions, she raised the best children as a mother and was a faithful wife to her husband”, the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly pointed out the prominent features of Hazrat Zeinab (a.s.).

“Hazrat Zeinab was also active in the field of social responsibility and once look after Imam Sajjad (a.s.) as a nurse. Elsewhere, she exposed the conspiracy of the enemies to the public”, he added.

“She provided services to the captives of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) and made everyone love her”, he said, referring to the important role of Hazrat Zeinab (a.s.) in the Karbala event as a nurse.

“If we pay attention to her speech in Kufa and Levant, we see her, playing the role of a religious politician who thwarted the enemy’s schemes. The profound and eloquent speech of Hazrat Zeinab (a.s.) in Kufa, which caused men to cry, and what happened in the court of Yazid in Damascus, showed the knowledge strength and courage that she inherited from her father (Imam Ali) and grandfather (Prophet Muhammad)”, he said, adding that Hazrat Zeinab (a.s.) was fully aware of the political and social spheres.

“Hazrat Zeinab (a.s.) as a social activist participated in the most difficult events and in addition to managing the captives of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) after Karbala incident, nursed Imam Sajjad (a.s.), and as a religious politician, and a person who thinks of reforming human society, introduced and broadcast the message of Ashura in the most accurate and comprehensive way”, Ayatollah Ramazani pointed out.

“Women and girls of the society should follow the example of Hazrat Zeinab (a.s.) in various fields”, stating that recognizing Hazrat Zeinab (a.s.) as a distinguished figure in the Islamic world is very important, the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly stated.

In the end, Ayatollah Ramazani concluded, “Knowing the different areas of woman’s activity, in the fields of upbringing, as a wife and a mother, as well as their participation in the social and political fields, are important issues that need further research, study and modeling.”
