Endowment, common in religions: Ayatollah Ramazani
Ayatollah Ramazani, Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly stated, “Endowment is for solving society’s cultural and economic problems. For this, we must have management and specify the examples of endowment.”
ABWA Official Website – On Wednesday, November 20, 2024, Hojat al-Islam Abbas Eskandari, General Director of the Endowment Organization of Qom Province, while attending the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, met and talked with Ayatollah Reza Ramazani, Secretary General of the Assembly.
In this meeting, the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly stated, “All Infallible Imams (a.s.) were concerned about endowment, which indicates the importance of this tradition. Therefore, it is appropriate to research the endowments of AhlulBayt (a.s.).”
“Endowment is for solving the cultural and economic problems of society. For this, we must have management and specify the examples of endowment. It is essential to direct endowments, and this is the seminaries’ duty. In this regard, a system is needed in which the topics and examples of endowment are specified,” Ayatollah Ramazani added.
Regarding the position of endowment in Islam and other religions, he said, “Endowment is so important that there is an independent book on it in Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh). Also, in other religions such as Christianity, endowment has a special place.”
About the importance of acting on the intention of the endower, the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly said, “This issue is crucial, and everyone must be committed to it. Because according to Sharia and law, the intention of the endower must be acted on.”
Praising the efforts of the Endowment Organization in printing and publishing religious books, he stated, “The AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly can cooperate with the Endowment Organization in printing and publishing books. The Assembly has published many works, and publishing religious works is among charitable deeds.”
About the publication of books, the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly said, “According to the Hadiths, charity has a general meaning and many examples, one of which is publishing books. For example, the virtual encyclopedia WikiShia in 22 languages, is one of the activities of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly to promote the culture and teachings of the AhlulBayt (a.s.).”
Referring to the necessity of directing the endowments in today’s world, he added, “Based on the needs of the day, some endowers can be encouraged to produce religious animations. Because today, conditions have changed, and even artificial intelligence endowment can be defined.”
