One of the Lebanese ulama stated, “The Islamic Republic of Iran not only pursues the unity of the followers of the AhlulBayt (a.s.), but also focuses on the unity of Muslims.”
In the 7th General Assembly of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, Hojat al-Islam Sheikh Abd al-Hussain Sadiq, one of the ulama of Nabatieh, Lebanon, emphasized on Islamic unity.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran not only pursues the unity of the followers of the AhlulBayt (a.s.), but also focuses on the unity of Muslims. Also, regarding the need for unity among Muslims, Ayatollah Sistani said, “Sunnis are from us”,” the Lebanese scholar continued.
“Even when Imam Ali (a.s.) was not in power, he pursued the unity of the Islamic Ummah and was interested in the unity of Muslims. Also, Imam Sajjad (a.s.) prays for the border guards of Islamic territories,” he emphasized.
“Since the Safavid era, Iran has supported the Shiites around the world in various ways, which continues to this day. Even today, Iran provides a lot of support to the Shiites of South Lebanon, and the children of South Lebanon witness the successes of the Resistance,” he added.
“The cooperation between Iran and Lebanon is not temporary and in special conditions, but strategic and permanent,” Sheikh Abd al-Hussain Sadiq stated.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran has established a reconciliation and alliance between religion and politics,” he stated, “Despite the severe sanctions, the Islamic Republic of Iran has achieved remarkable successes. Iran has emphasized the approximation of the Islamic denominations and the Interanion Quds Day.”
The Ahl al-Bayt World Assembly is an international non-governmental organization (INGO) that was established by a group of Shiite elites under the supervision of the great Islamic authority of the Shiites in 1990 to identify, organize, educate and support the followers of Ahl al-Bayt.
