Afghanistan, priority to be supported by AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly: Moinian

In the conference of “Ashura to Arbaeen; Messages and Results” in Tehran, stating that Afghanistan is among the top priorities of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, the Director-General of Asia-Pacific Affairs of the Assembly referred to the current situation in the country, and said, “We pay attention to the Shiite, lovers, and followers of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) communities. All our efforts, the Shiite Ulama and elders of Afghanistan, are to talk to the people so that, God forbid, the situation in Afghanistan does not lead to ethnic-tribal and religious conflicts.”

On Thursday, September 23, 2021, coincides with Safer 1, 1443 and as Arbaeen of Imam Hussain (a.s.) anniversary approaches, the conference “Ashura to Arbaeen; Messages and Results”, and also in its sideline, appreciation of the Haya’ats of Afghan immigrants in Tehran was held in compliance with health protocols in Cultural Revolution Complex (Sarcheshmeh), by the representative office of Tebyan Center for Social and Cultural Activities in Tehran, in cooperation with the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly and the Islamic Development Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

At the beginning of the meeting, referring to the fact that God appointed successors for the Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h), who are the Infallible Imams (a.s.) including Imam Mahdi (a.s.), in order for the guidance line of the humanity not be lost, Hojat al-Islam Mohammad Ali Moinian, Director-General of Asia-Pacific Affairs of the Assembly of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly said, “These nobles are in fact the successors of the Last Prophet (p.b.u.h) until the Day of Judgment, and their most important duty is to protect the divine religion.”

“In their time, the duty of infallible Imams (a.s.) were protecting this religion which with great difficulty was presented to the people by the Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h). In his time, according to the time and place conditions, every Imam performed his duty in the best way,” he added.

“In the time of Imam Hussain (a.s.), the situation had changed in a way that the appearances of Islam were fading, and the place of good and wrong was changed. Especially after the death of Muawiyah, when Yazid came to power, the spread of evil and ugliness in society, was rapid. It got to the point where Imam Hussein (a.s.) said, “There is nothing left of Islam and only one name remains.” In such an atmosphere, the Imam’s duty was to protect the religion of God. Imam Hussain (a.s.) said, “If the survival of this religion is achieved by killing me, O swords! embrace me”, said Moinian about the era of Imam Hussain (a.s.).

“Today, we owe the religion that reached us, to the blood of the martyrs,” he added.

“The most important message of the uprising of Imam Hussain (a.s.) is enjoining the good and forbidding the evil. In his will, Imam Hussain (a.s.) wrote, “I rose to revive enjoining the good and forbidding the bad, in order to reform the Ummah of my grandfather, Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h)”; the Ummah that was on the verge of annihilation,” said the Director-General of Asia-Pacific Affairs of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, referring to the two important messages and consequences of the movement of Imam Hussain (a.s.).

“One of the most important lessons we learn from Ashura culture is enjoining the good and forbidding the evil. But today, unfortunately, in Islamic societies, they are not observed. Some even dare to commit an ugly act openly without fear of anyone. This is while enjoining the good and forbidding the evil is a social Wajib and the duty of every human being. Because the result of neglecting them is the increase of sin and ugliness in society,” he stressed.

“If one achieves true faith, the real fruit of it is emigration and struggle in the way of God. Imam Hussain (a.s.) migrated and struggled to preserve the religion and the survival of Islam,” Moinian said, considering the second message of the movement of Imam Hussein (a.s.) as emigration and struggle in the way of God, referring to a verse of the Holy Quran.

“The minor migration of Imam Hussain (a.s.) was from Medina to Mecca to avoid the allegiance of Yazd. Major migration is related to the human soul, and migration from anything other than God to God,” he said, stating that migration and struggle have two physical and spiritual aspects.

“The minor jihad was the battle that brought the Imam and his companions to the battlefield, and until the last moment of their lives, their faith and will were not damaged. But the major jihad means the battle against carnal desires,” asserted the Director-General of the Asia-Pacific affairs of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“Today, we must also learn from the message of Imam Hussain (a.s.),” he stressed.

“About three decades ago, the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly was established. Headquartered in Tehran, it has 700 members from prominent figures, Ulama, university professors and elites around the world in its branches, which meet every 4 years under the title of General Assembly,” said Moinian in the second part of his speech, about the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“One of the priorities of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly is to pay special attention to neighboring countries, which have the largest population of followers of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) and Shiites. In the meantime, it can be said that Afghanistan is among the top support priorities of this forum. Of the 700 key members of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, about 20 are from Afghanistan, including Hojat al-Islam Hosseini Mazari, head of the Tebyan Center for Socio-Cultural Activities, who attends general assemblies meetings and is influential,” he mentioned.

“Hojat al-Islam Hossaini Mazari works very powerful in the field of real activities as well as media. We appreciate his efforts,” said the Director-General of Asia-Pacific Affairs of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“The appropriate measures have been taken so far by some of our members and the Council of Shiite Ulama of Afghanistan. All efforts and meetings are made to avoid endangering the Shiite community and preserving its interests,” he said by referring to the current situation in Afghanistan, stating that the most important concern of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly is to defend the unity of the community of followers of AhlulBayt (a.s.) and Shiites.

“The future of Afghanistan’s political issues is not in our agenda in AhlulBayt (a.s.) Word Assembly. Because we are not politicians and our scope of work does not include political issues. But we pay attention to the Shiite, lovers, and followers of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) communities. All our efforts, the Shiite Ulama and elders of Afghanistan, are to talk to the people so that, God forbid, the situation in Afghanistan does not lead to ethnic-tribal and religious conflicts,” Moinian clarified.

“God willing, in the near future, we will witness the establishment of lasting peace and security in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, and the honor and pride of all the followers of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) in all parts of the world,” he expressed hope.
