Emphasizing that committed art should serve the fundamental issues of the Islamic world, Ayatollah Akhtari stated, “Alongside the oppressed nations, such as Palestine and Yemen, the Islamic Republic of Iran continues the path of Resistance.”
ABWA Official Website – In a speech at the international conference of the “Committed Art in Support of the Holy al-Quds”, while expressing his gratitude to the organizers of the conference, the head of the Committee for the Support of the Islamic Revolution of the Palestinian People affiliated with the Presidential Administration of the Islamic Republic of Iran stated, “This festival has been organized with the efforts of the supporters of Palestine and the Islamic Resistance as a unique step in using the God-given talent and artistic techniques in line with the ideals.”
While emphasizing the need for synergy in different sectors, Ayatollah Mohammad Hassan Akhtari continued, “Art in beautiful formats and different frames of cartoon, film, animation, literature, poetry, drama and other techniques, should serve the fundamental issues of the Islamic world.”
Pointing out the views of Imam Khomeini (r.a.) and the Supreme Leader of the Revolution regarding revolutionary art, he noted, “Islam wants art to serve human and religious affairs, as well as divine culture. The Supreme Leader of the Revolution has frequently emphasized that serving Islamic ideals, especially the Cause of Palestine, is one of the necessities in art.”
In another part of his speech, while denouncing some so-called inhuman artists who, under the pretext of freedom, desecrate the sanctities in Denmark, Netherlands, and France, the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly said, “We condemn these heinous and evil actions, and express our hatred for the governments that support them, who have turned art into a tool against the Islamic Ummah.”
“Condemning these actions alone is not enough,” Ayatollah Akhtari emphasized, “We must confront the enemies using artistic capacities, and cultivate the idea of fighting oppression and arrogance among all nations, especially among university and school students.”
“It is regrettable that the international community has remained silent regarding the crimes of the Zionist regime in Palestine and the aggression of the Saudi regime against the oppressed people of Yemen. We must use committed art to destroy Israel, repel oppression and strengthen the Resistance, to mobilize the world against criminals,” he added.
“The Cause of Palestine is the current issue of all Muslims. Today and at this very hour, settlements are being constructed, people’s houses are being demolished, young people are being killed, and Palestinian women and children are being captured. As the Supreme Leader and the authorities of the Islamic Republic have been standing by the Palestinian and Yemeni nations, will continue this path,” expressed the head of the Committee for the Support of the Islamic Revolution of the Palestinian People at the end of his speech.
At the end of this ceremony, the awards of the “3rd International Cartoon Festival of Al-Quds Day” will be given to the winners.
