Pointing out that divine teachings and different dimensions of the lives of the Infallibles (a.s.) should be expressed in the Majlis for the AhlulBayt (a.s.), the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly said, “If such teachings and Ahkam are not expressed in a Majlis for the AhlulBayt (a.s.), and only a few lines of poetry are recited in praise of the Infallibles (a.s.), that Majlis has definitely deviated from the right path.”

On Wednesday night, July 6, 2022, at the martyrdom anniversary ceremony of Imam Muhammad Baqer (a.s.) in the Afakhra Mosque in Rasht, Ayatollah Reza Ramazani said, “On the martyrdom anniversary of the Imam Muhammad Baqer (a.s.), it would be good if there were mourning processions in the cities of Gilan. One of the problems that arose after the demise of the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) was that Islam and religious concepts somehow lost their original meanings.”

“The opportunity for expressing Tafsir of Quran were not prepared for Imam Hassan (a.s.) and Imam Hussain (a.s.) during their Imamate time,” the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly clarified, “However, Imam Sajjad (a.s.) in his time could express Islamic teachings in various dimensions of social, political, moral, ideological in the form of supplications.”

“As some western thinkers have argued, Sahifa Sajjadieh (by Imam Sajjad (a.s.)) is a precious treasure that we have,” he mentioned.

“Jihad of enlightenment is not a matter specific to the present time, but the duty of the Imam (a.s.) is to fight against any deviations in every age. During the time of Imam Baqer (a.s.) religious concepts were instilled in the society in a wrong way. In a way that some people considered working as conflicting with piety. But Imam (a.s.) himself had occupation and was working for making a living to fight such deviant thoughts and perceptions,” Ayatollah Ramazani added.

“At that time, some people of the society had a wrong perception that Imam Baqer (a.s.) was looking for mundane wealth! While such a thing was not true, and even Imam Ali (a.s.) used to endow the fruits of his efforts after working and earning money,” he continued.

“Some people argue that a Muslim should not seek wealth, which is very wrong. According to what is stated in the Islamic supplications, poverty must be eradicated, and the Islamic society is not poor, but it provides welfare for all its members in every region, and poverty must also be fought,” continued the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“According to Nahj al-Balagha, Imam Ali (a.s.) divided the society into four groups: poor, rich, wise and ignorant. If each of these groups do their duties properly, there will be no problems in the society,” he expressed.

“A rich person should think to eradicate poverty, and a poor person should have the understanding to work,” Ayatollah Ramazani stated, “There should not be beggars in the Islamic society, and in an Islamic government, appropriate measures should be taken according to the conditions of each individual.”

“Some intellectuals have wrong perceptions about the Ziyarat Jami’ah Kabirah. Those who are against pure Islam raise arguments that are against the Quranic teachings. The duty of an Imam (a.s.) is to clarify these misconceptions,” he clarified.

“One of the important duties of the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) was to enlighten about the truth of pure Islam. The personality of Imam Muhammad Baqer (a.s.) was comprehensive in all dimensions and this is quite evident. He answers the doubts that have been raised in the society,” noted the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“Imam Muhammad Baqer (a.s.) reintroduced the pure Islam to the people so that they have a correct understanding of right, wrong, courage, and participation in the individual and social spheres,” he expressed.

“We have big behavioral gaps with Imam Baqer (a.s.) and we should decrease these gaps to correct our understanding. We must find a detailed and comprehensive understanding of theology, eschatology, and human knowledge, and be present in the school of Imam (a.s.),” Ayatollah Ramazani added.

Pointing out that divine teachings and different dimensions of the lives of the Infallibles (a.s.) should be expressed in the Majlis for the AhlulBayt (a.s.), he said, “If such teachings and Ahkam are not expressed in a Majlis for the AhlulBayt (a.s.), and only a few lines of poetry are recited in praise of the Infallibles (a.s.), that Majlis has definitely deviated from the right path.”

“The Majlis for AhlulBayt (a.s.) should revive the teachings of AhlulBayt (a.s.). If we follow the teachings of Imams (a.s.), we will be safe from intellectual deviations. Sometimes intellectual deviations arise in some discussions where we make claims, while we do not have an argument for those claims,” stated the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

While stressing the importance of paying full attention to the Holy Quran, he pointed out, “Those who are people of dhikr, pay attention to God and feel obligated towards the affairs of their neighbors.”

“We should have knowledge, love, and obedience towards Imam Mahdi (a.s.) and try to make ourselves like him. By reciting Ziyarat Ashura, a person should try to make himself like Imam (a.s.),” Ayatollah Ramazani clarified.

“We recite the Ziyarat Ashura a lot, but we have not understood the position and status of this Ziyarat. The system of Imam Hussain (a.s.) is not separate from God’s guidance system,” he added.

“Imam Baqer (a.s.) removed many stereotypes and deviations, and it is also upon us to correct our thoughts and morals,” stated the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“Some people treat their family members badly, and unfortunately they do not know anything about the ethics of the AhlulBayt (a.s.). Turning away from the teachings of the AhlulBayt (a.s.), is definitely to our detriment. We must have Tawassul (recourse in AhlulBayt) and Tawakkul (trust in God) and deepen our understanding and study,” he said in the end.
