Hazrat Zainab’s Suffering during her captivity: Secretary General of ABWA explained

On the night of the demise of Hazrat Zainab (a.s.), Ayatollah “Reza Ramazani” explained about her patience in the Levant.

Ayatollah Reza Ramazani during his trip to Syria, on the evening of Friday, February 26, 2021, on the night of the demise of Hazrat Zeinab Kobra (a.s.), had a short conversation with the program of Kooy-e Mohabbat IRIB 2.

In this program, which was broadcast live from the shrine of Hazrat Zeinab in Damascus and through the IRIB 2 channel, the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly mentioned her tragedy.

In this short mentioning of the tragedy, he spoke about the patience of Hazrat Zainab (a.s.) after her captivity, in the Levant against the oppression of Yazid and his followers.

The text of the Ayatollah Ramazani’s speech in the program Kooy-e Mohabbat is as follows:

When the AhlulBayt (a.s.) reached Levant, they were mistreated after settling in the ruins. Of course, Hazrat Zainab (a.s.) endured this firmly and strongly. But some incidents were very difficult for her:

The first incident happened when Hazrat Zainab (a.s.) protested and gave a speech in Yazid Palace. When the enemies despaired, they brought the head of Hazrat Zainab’s brother to her in a basin. Everyone saw the scene.

The next incident which saddened Hazrat Zeinab a lot, happened when one of Yazid’s entourages, referring to Fatima, the daughter of Imam Hussein (a.s.), said, “Give me this girl (as a maid).” It was very difficult for Hazrat Zainab (a.s.) to hear such a thing.

The third incident was what happened to Hazrat Roghayeh (a.s.) in the ruins of Levant*.

Also, when the caravan of AhlulBayt (Imam Hussein’s captive family) entered the Levant, some people threw stones and clods from the roofs at the heads of the martyrs which were placed on the spears. This caused some heads to fall from the top of the spears and the children saw this scene.

*As a 3-year-old child, she missed his father, Imam Hussein (a.s.), and lamented. To silence her, the enemies brought her father’s head in a basin. She died after seeing her father’s head.
