The book is an analytical comparison between Shiite and Sunni beliefs about the Prophet’s (a.s.) Companions and Imamate. The foundation of the book’s topics is the validation of documents and sources of Islamic Sharia, based on both schools and examining the ways to achieve them.

This work has started with a detailed introduction to clarify the origin of the difference between the two views on Imamate and Caliphate. In this book, topics such as God’s attributes and differences in their understanding, differences regarding the attributes of prophets, and the lack of the same view on the esoteric interpretation and exegesis of some Quranic verses have been studied.

Further, in two separate chapters, the different aspects and dimensions of following the Prophet (p.b.u.h) and Companions on the one hand and following the Imamate and the Caliphate on the other hand, have been discussed, and the terms, claims, documents, and criticisms of both groups have been explained.

The first volume of the book “Indicators of Two Schools” by the late Allameh Askari was translated into Indonesian by Muhammad Shams Al-Arif and published by the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly Publishing House in medium octavo size.
