Announcing the holding of the international conference “Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.), Protector of the Great Prophet (p.b.u.h)”, the secretary of the book council of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, Hojat al-Islam Jafari Farahani, said, "According to the suggestions of history professors and researchers, because, except some small meetings, so far no great academic work has been done about Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.), it is decided that the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly hold the conference."
"The first goal of this conference is to know the character of Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.), because he, in addition to taking custody of the Prophet (p.b.u.h) as his uncle after Abd al-Muttalib, and playing an important role in his upbringing and growth; he also played a role in various incidents, especially in protecting him in the face of enemies. Therefore, it was appropriate to know in detail the family lineage of the Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h) focusing on the character of Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.)", he explained the main goals of the conference.
"The second goal of the conference is to respond to the doubts which are raised by the enemies -especially those who are known in history as Nawasib - about Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.). It should be noted that because Abu Talib (a.s.) is the father of Imam Ali as the Imam and successor after the Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h), he has been exposed to the suspicions of the enemies. One of these suspicions is that according to the enemies, "he did not convert to Islam and was not a believer" (!). This is while the Shiites consider him as a believer and Muslim. Because if he did not believe to Islam, there was no reason for his great support for the Prophet (p.b.u.h)", Farahani added.
"Due to the fact that the material about Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.) is scattered in historical books, this conference tries to revive the written heritage about his character in Sunni and Shiite works", Farahani outlined.
"The fourth goal of the conference is to create a culture for the next generation. In other words, with this conference, we want to propagate detailed contents for elementary to university and seminary students, inside and outside the country, by widely using the different media, so that on the one hand, the followers of AhlulBayt (a.s.) are not affected by the doubts and, on the other hand, we discuss with the opponents and respond to their doubts in the language of the day", he emphasized.
"As stated in the Academic Call, the Secretariat of the Conference will accept works in four subjects: History and Life, theology and beliefs, Poetry and Literature, and Authors. Of course, each of these axes has sub-categories that interested people can accordingly submit their works", Jafari Farahani stated on the subjects projected for the conference.
"The deadline for submitting abstracts is January 20, 2019, and if the abstracts are initially approved, the original papers must be sent to the Secretariat by April 20, 2019. The conference will be held in 2019", he announced the deadline for submitting works for this conference.
"The best papers of this conference will be registered in the Islamic World Science Citation Center (ISC)", the Secretary of the Book Council of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly said about the predicted privileges for the best articles.
Regarding the impact of holding such conferences in the production of Islamic humanities, he said: "Certainly, holding scientific meetings, conferences and congresses with a focus on religious issues is very effective in creating a scientific atmosphere and solving the problems and needs of society."
"It should be noted that academic centers conduct a conference with a needs-assessment, by which the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly to hold the international conference "Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.); the Protector of the Great Prophet (p.b.u.h)". Because the necessary work has not been done yet about hi, in foreign countries. Therefore, this conference can remove some of the hostilities against Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.) and the accusations against him by creating a propagation atmosphere", Farahani concluded at the end.
