In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Once again, the Islamic and Arab world is witnessing the indecent assault on the ulama and religious scholars of the Arabian Peninsula who call for peace and Islam. Among the most recent cases, the Saudi security forces have brutally arrested the renowned jurist scholar His Eminence, Sayyid Hashem Al-Shakhs, without any warrant or even legal justification what so ever. This cruel and barbaric act of the Saudi regime clearly reflects its vicious and merciless violations against scholars and people of Qatif and Al-Ahsa areas.
The arrest of His Eminence Al-Shakhs by the Saudi security forces comes as a continuation of the sequential scenes of arrests and detainments that started targeting religious scholars in general; scholars who pursue their divine, legal, and humanitarian roles in society like leading group and Friday prayers and teaching and promoting the rulings of the honorable Prophet’s religion. Along the same line, two other eminent scholars, namely, Sayyid Khodr Al-Awami and Sheikh Abbas Al-Saeed had previously been detained on the 11th of November, through a horrific storming operation that transgressed not only all limits of Sharia Law but also violated the most basic local and international moral norms. Ironically, these criminal acts were perpetrated by rulers of Saudi Family who pretend to be advocating Islam, peace and democracy in the world and international societies.
AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly condemns and denounces these illegal arrests and immoral harassments that the religious scholars of Arabia are getting subject to, and demands the House of Saud to release His Eminence Al-Shakhs immediately within the framework of international laws and in order to achieve true democracy in the country. We also call upon the international community as well as International and local human rights organizations to play their expected role and fulfill their moral and humanitarian duties in accordance with the requirements of the international law and the United Nations’ charter of human rights, and truly commit themselves to the principles stated therein. We urge them to push the Saudi regime and demand an immediate release of all prisoners and scholars including His Eminence Sayyid Hashim Al-Shakhs. These organizations are reminded that indifference and turning blind eyes to such crimes contradicts the very basic principles that they have been established for, and above all, certainly causes history to place a shameful and eternal stigma on their foreheads.
“And indeed the ultimate and final conclusion belongs to the righteous”
