The text of the Academic Call for the Conference is as follows:

** Academic Call for International Conference “Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.), the Supporter of the Great Prophet (p.b.u.h)” **

In the Name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h) quoted by AhlulBayt (a.s.):

"I and the person who took custody of the orphan will go to heaven." That is, Hazrat Abu Talib, who took custody of the Prophet (p.b.u.h).

Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.) Abd Manaf bin Abd al Mutalib, was Prophet's honorable uncle, Imam Ali’s father and great supporter of the Prophet and the religion of Islam at the very early days of the Prophet's Revelation. His life is full of unique honor, sacrifice and sincerity. In addition to being in charge of the Ka'bah, he was the protector of the poor and helper of the disadvantaged. However, his sacrifice and endurance for the sake of Islam and Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h) is the brightest season in his life.

Nevertheless, unfortunately due to the historic grudge of the enemies of the AhlulBayt (a.s.), the dimensions of his personality have been covered under the ghost of slander, neglect, or obscenity. Individual works that have been conducted over the centuries, too, have focused on the topics related to the faith of Abu Talib; but have left unheeded his ethical, social and literary traditions.

So far, there has not been a general and significant conference to collect and publish articles of elites and thinkers around the world.

Now, the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, as an international NGO which promotes the teachings of the Holy Quran and AhlulBayt (a.s.) and also provides intellectual and cultural support for the followers of the Ahlul- AhlulBayt (a.s.), intends to hold the "International conference Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.), the Supported of the Great Prophet (p.b.u.h)” in collaboration with the similar institutions in Iran.

Herby, all researchers in the fields of History and Seera (Lifestyle, Biography and traditions of the Holy Prophet of Islam and the AhlulBayt), Aghayed (Islamic beliefs) and Kalaam (Islamic theology)", Rejal (Authors), Bibliography, Arabic literature and etc., are invited to write academic articles in any of the four topics which were mentioned in this call (or any other related topic) to help the organizers eliminate the historical oppression on the great personality of Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.).
