ABWA Official Website – The opening ceremony of the 6th Exhibition of Books and Scientific Achievements of Seminary Research Centers entitled Meshkat was held on Sunday, January 7, 2024, with a speech by Ayatollah Arafi, the director of Iran’s seminaries, and attended by provincial and seminary officials at the Imam Khomeini (r.a.) Complex of Martyrs Cemetery of Qom.
In an interview with ABNA on the sidelines of the exhibition, the deputy for scientific and cultural affairs of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, referring to his evaluation of the Meshkat exhibition stated, “Many seminary centers participated in the exhibition and presented their scientific and research activities. However, there is a criticism of the exhibition that there is no separation between new and old works in the booths, and the visitor cannot make a proper assessment of the state of research in the seminary.”
“Many works have been presented in the Meshkat exhibition that did not pay attention to the needs of the day and one of the reasons for this problem is to perform parallel and repetitive activities. For example, in the exhibition, dozens of books were presented on the criticism of Wahhabism, none of which had new words, new approaches, or new methods. We also saw the lack of books on the study of the situation of Shiites in the exhibition,” continued Hojat al-Islam Dr. Mahdi Farmanian.
“The Assembly presented its latest works at the Meshkat book fair,” Farmanian added, “However, the presentation of the works in the exhibition could have been better. So that anyone who passed in front of the Assembly’s booth in the exhibition could see the new works of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly and learn about the new works compiled in the Assembly during the past year. This criticism applies to many booths in the Meshkat exhibition.”
It is worth mentioning that the 6th Exhibition of Books and Scientific Achievements of Seminary Research Centers entitled Meshkat is open to the public from 7 to 12 January from 9 to 19. In this exhibition, more than 80 seminary research and publishing organizations, including the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, display their scientific and research achievements in 68 booths.
