ABWA Official Website – The book “Mutual Relations of the Caliphs and the Prophet’s (p.b.u.h) Family” by the late Hojat al-Islam Reza Kardan, was translated into French and published by the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.
This book studies the dimensions and aspects of the political relationship of Imam Ali (a.s.) with the three caliphs, based on Shiite and Sunni sources.
Following the rise of the doubt that the caliphate of the caliphs was legitimate because of Imam Ali’s (a.s.) benevolence for them, giving consultation to them, family connection and naming his children after caliphs, and his avoidance of any conflict with them, the author has tried to explain the validity of Imam Ali’s (a.s.) immediate caliphate after the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h), and the reason for Imam’s relationship with the companions, caliphs, and their families.
The result of the research in the author’s thought indicates that with arguments from the Quran and frequent hadiths in Shiite and Sunni sources, the immediate caliphate of Imam Ali (a.s.) after the Prophet (p.b.u.h) was certain, and relying on some measures, which may have been taken by Imam (a.s.) with different motives, cannot create any ambiguity in this issue, and be a proof of the legitimacy of the succession of caliphs.
