Shojaeifard: Sheikh Zakzaky has 25 million followers in Nigeria

The fifth anniversary of the oppressed martyrs of Zaria was held on Saturday, December 12, 2020, in the presence of the family of Sheikh "Ibrahim Zakzaky", the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, and in the presence of a group of thinkers from the Islamic world.

Representative of Sheikh Ebrahim Zakzaky in Iran delivered a speech on Saturday, December 12, 2020, at the fifth anniversary of the oppressed martyrs of Zaria, in Qom.

Referring to the number of Sheikh Zakzaky followers in Nigeria, Mohammad Hassan Shojaeifard said: "Sheikh Zakzaky was able to attract 25 million people, of which 15 million are Shiites and 5 million are Sunni Muslims and 3 million Christians and two million non-believers."

"He was able to train millions of soldiers for the Resistance Front, and the World Al-Quds Day march in Nigeria was attended by 2 million Shiites, Sunnis, Christians and non-believers," he added.

He said that Sheikh Zakzaky is so popular in Nigeria that the current president of the country came to Sheikh Zakzaky before the election in 2014 and took a photo with the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria in order to get more votes from the people.

"Sheikh Zakzaky's approximate method is important, and he created dozens of institutions and his service was strange. Any needy person could get help from Sheikh Zakzaky and he had spiritual rule over the people. Sheikh Zakzaky formed civil and legal groups and did not discriminate between individuals. He told his followers to go to Sunni mosques, and this would lead to people turning to Shiism. Sheikh Zakzaki's actions led to people becoming Shiites," he said.

The representative of Sheikh Zakzaky said that United States could not tolerate so many Shiites in Nigeria, so the Nigerian military attacked the Quds Day rallies in Nigeria, which resulted in the martyrdom of thirty people, including three of Sheikh Zakzaky's sons. But the Islamic world did not react to this attack and in Iran only the Supreme Leader of the Revolution opposed this crime.

It is worth mentioning that on December 13, 2015 when Shiites were mourning Imam Hussain (a.s.) in a Husseiniyah in the city of Zaria in Nigeria, the country's military forces with a previous plan to destroy Shiite Islam in Nigeria raided to the Husseiniyah of Zaria and home of Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky, the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria and killed more than a thousand Shiites and a number of members of the family of Sheikh Zakzaky and severely injured the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria and his wife and they were taken to prison.
