Islamic Revolutionary media must address rational justice, recognize enemy’s media line: Ayatollah Ramazani

Thursday, 04 August 2022

Noting that the Islamic Revolutionary media should address the rational justice, the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly said, “Among the elements of the enemy’s media line are exaggeration of the country’s problems, polarization of society, spreading hatred among people, and increasing violence in society.”

On Tuesday, August 2, 2022, on the mourning ceremony for Imam Hussein (a.s.) and media ethics session at Gilan Press House, expressing his condolences on the days of martyrdom of Imam Hussain (a.s.) Ayatollah Reza Ramazani stated, “Media activists can play a role like an ambassador in different fields.”

“Imam Hussain (a.s.) is a role model not only for Shiites, but also for all Muslims and monotheists,” Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly added, “Dignity, determination, freedom, religious zeal, Maʿrifa (Divine knowledge), courage and resisting the oppression, are the principles of the Imam Hussein (a.s.) school.”

“In the Resistance front jihad, morality is of great importance. In Jihad, morality means that Hussain (a.s.) never deprives people of water in war. According to Machiavellians, ethics has no place in politics. They believe that a person who has reached power can use any means to stabilize and develop it,” he stated.

Islamic Revolutionary media must address rational justice

Referring to the ethics of the Islamic Revolutionary media, the member of the Assembly of Leadership Experts added, “One of the most important issues that must be considered in the ethics of the Islamic Revolutionary media is the discourse of the Revolution.”

“In the field of ethics and conveying the message, events after Ashura are very important. Lady Zaynab (a.s.) and Imam Sajjad (a.s.) as models of conveying the message, introduced the dimensions of Ashura Event to the human society. One of the important lessons of Ashura is ethics and mysticism. The discourse of the revolution is the discourse of justice, Tawhid (monotheism), dignity, spirituality and resistance against tyranny,” Ayatollah Ramazani emphasized.

“Lady Zainab’s sermons prevented the distortion of Ashura event. By observing the principles of ethics, these messengers introduced this event to the human society with all its political, epistemological, cultural, and other dimensions,” said Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“In a religious system, media ethics should be based on honesty, guidance and stating the truth. All of us are obliged to perform Jihad of Enlightenment. Each of the media outlet must prepare a front and a division for Jihad of Enlightenment,” he added.

By managing cyberspace, enemies spread despair among the public

Noting that today the enemies intend to get the achievements of the Islamic system be forgotten, Ayatollah Ramazani stated,              “Enemies are managing the cyberspace in order to instill despair into people.”

“Two million Christian Catholic priests are preaching around the world as missionaries. While the Islamic seminaries barely have 120,000 clerics,” added the member of the Assembly of Leadership Experts.

“We are facing the media giant and empire of the world, 95% of which is owned by Zionism. With the media dictatorship, the enemy seeks global management and intends to conquer the culture and politics of the world with this virtual space in the future,” he said.

“The enemy seeks to induce despair in the society. By being determined, we can improve society on various levels and achieve success,” Ayatollah Ramazani emphasized.

Favoritism and nepotism are prohibited in appointments

Referring to some of his meetings with some provincial officials and representatives, the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly stated, “In these meetings, I complained about some appointments. Appointments, should not be based on favoritism and nepotism, but according to meritocracy with the criteria of the Islamic Revolution.”

“One of the teachings of the Ghadir Event is to appoint worthy people in the proper position. I also discussed these points and issues with the president,” he said.

“In the preaching sessions, disappointment should not be induced. Everyone, especially media activists, should follow the Supreme Leader’s example in this regard. Despite being aware of the problems, he gives hope to the society, and in the same way the media should gives hope to people,” Ayatollah Ramazani added.

“Iran’s progress and achievements brought Western countries at the negotiation table with Iran. The achievements of the Iranian nation are influential at the regional and international levels,” noted the member of the Assembly of Leadership Experts, referring to the achievements of the Islamic Revolution in various scientific and military sectors.

Pointing to the inflation in European countries, he said, “The total cost of energy in a European home is 120 euros, and, due to the greater need for energy in winter, this figure is expected to increase to 500 euros.”

“It is our duty to properly introduce religion to the youth,” Ayatollah Ramazani emphasized, “If justice, spirituality, dignity and human rights of Islam are correctly interpreted, no one will turn away from religion.”

It is necessary to form a study and research team to monitor the news in the media

“Peace and mental security of the people is one of the achievements of the Islamic Revolution. Before action, every decision need justification. People should be considered as one of the pillars of the country, and we should create peace of mind for them,” said the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“The media needs to establish a study and research team to monitor the news, and according to every news story, perform research and produce the content to present to the audience in different formats, including soft news,” he stated.

“Fairness and honesty in reporting is one of the necessities of media activity,” Ayatollah Ramazani said, pointing out the requirements of media ethics.

“The Islamic Revolutionary media must stand against religious deviations. According to our belief, we even feel duty to our neighbor, but in the West, it is common to say, “It is your problem, not mine”,” added the member of the Assembly of Leadership Experts.

The need for comprehensive and inclusive analysis in media activities

“In the media activities, one-dimensional view of issues should be avoided. Rather, analyzes should be inclusive and thorough,” he continued.

“We must be fair about the Islamic Revolution and prevent its achievements from being ignored and distorted. We admit that we could not do justice in some cases. But the Islamic Revolution has provided many services in villages and deprived areas,” Ayatollah Ramazani noted.

“Islamic Revolutionary media should address the rational justice,” said the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“The enemy seeks to induce the ineffectiveness of Islam to show that it has no plan regarding governance, and that the country has reached a dead end,” he stated, referring to the necessity of knowing the enemy’s intellectual and media line.

“Exaggerating the problems of the country and ignoring the development is one of the elements of the enemy’s media line. Inducing imprudence and mocking the activities of the officials by distorting and broadcasting selected news stories, as well as creating discord among the officials are other media programs of the enemy,” Ayatollah Ramazani said.

“Bipolarizing society, spreading hatred among people, increasing violence in society, and discrediting the clergy and separating people from them are other elements of the media line of the enemy,” added the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“Seminaries are guardians of religious affairs, and since long ago, clerics and great ulama were defenders, leaders and pioneers of Islam,” he said in the end.
